The biggest weekend in amateur radio: clubs operate on emergency power.
Field Day is the largest single event on the amateur calendar. Clubs set up in parks, fields and parking lots, run on generators and batteries for 24 hours and see how many contacts they can make. Visitors are welcome everywhere, so it is the easiest weekend of the year to see amateur radio in person and try it yourself.
